The Derbyshire Peak District has always been a popular place for visitors to frequent. Even before the Derbyshire Peak District was designated at England's first national park in the early 1950's, it was used and visited by many people, but more as a place of work and industry. Back in the 14th century, the Derbyshire Peak District was known for its textiles and in particular the wool industry.
